A decadent surf-and-turf meal featuring tender steak and juicy shrimp coated in a velvety garlic Parmesan sauce. Perfect for date nights or when you’re craving something rich and satisfying.
Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon or ribeye steaks (1 inch thick)
- 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Juice of half a lemon
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, chicken broth or water to thin sauce
Instructions
1. Prep the steaks
Season steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
2. Sear the steaks
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks and sear for 4–5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and cover loosely with foil to rest.
3. Cook the shrimp
Reduce skillet heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Squeeze in lemon juice and stir to combine.
4. Make the sauce
Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or water to reach desired consistency.
5. Plate and serve
Slice rested steaks and arrange on plates. Spoon shrimp and creamy garlic Parmesan sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
