Air Fryer Chicken Rissoles Recipe
Air fryer chicken rissoles offer a healthier alternative to traditional fried rissoles. They’re crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and require minimal oil. Perfect for a quick meal or a savory snack, these flavorful rissoles are ideal for busy weeknights, meal prepping, or as a party appetizer.
Ingredients:
- 500g ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Add the beaten egg and mix everything together until fully combined.
2. Shape the Rissoles:
- Wet your hands with a little water or oil to prevent the mixture from sticking.
- Take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into small, round patties or oval-shaped rissoles.
3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes.
4. Cook the Rissoles:
- Brush the air fryer basket with olive oil.
- Arrange the chicken rissoles in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch for even cooking.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
5. Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the rissoles from the air fryer and serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tzatziki, ketchup, or alongside vegetables.
